Here's what I know about the school:

it's in a pretty wealthy part of st. paul [summit avenue], MN

couple colleges nearby [st thomas, st catherine and macalester i can think of]

it's ranked in the 3rd or 4th tier

SCOTUS justice warren [i think he was the chief justice] went there

it's recruited by twin cities big law [i.e. D&W, RKMC....etc, but i heard you have to be in the top of the class to have a shot.

it's a regional school, but its got a PT program for people working fulltime.

I visited there this sat.  it's a thid tier school. 3.4/156 is median.  well established school so lots of connections.  known for its intellectual property program and also litigation.  People here are pretty competitive and a prof told me that a lot of the freshman come in thinking they're hotshots.  good school overall, about 24,000 a yr not including housing and food.

I'd take that bet since I'm sure many of the early justices didn't attend law school at all and I'm sure Marshall went to Howard.

William Mitchell is actually a 4th tier school I think.  You wouldn't want to go there if you didn't plan on staying in the twin cities, but I think the top of the class, as someone else said, gets pretty good opportunities in the immediate area.

I live in the St. Paul area and I'm sick of everyone who finds out I'm applying to law school asking me if I'm going to William Mitchell.  Some are really suprised that the University of Minnesota is ranked higher.  Needless to say the school has a really good rep for people that don't know anything about law schools in the area.
