Completion of Officer Candidate School and what Adcoms think

Ok so here's my situation. I am an honors student at COlgate University where i have a 3.4. My Lsat is painfully low at 153. But i graduated USMC OCS and I want to go into JAG. Will this kind of military experience make up for my toilet LSAT score? Is it something that would get me into a school like the University of Richmond or something comparable (ie Tulane, U of Alabama for example)? Any opinions or experince on the matter would be really helpful

as far as what i know, military service helps in terms of compensating for gpa (cuz it reflects a degree of discipline and diligence)... i don't think it can compensate for a low lsat score though

Definitely. You gotta improve your LSAT. If it is a little closer to the range for the schools you want to go to, I think with your experience they'd let you in.

By the way, I was wondering if there was any law related career options in the services that are available part time, ie natl guard/reserves. From what I heard, JAG does not allow that, but I wonder what else is out there.

I know richmond's 25%ile for LSATs is a 158. Do yall think I am way out of range for that now given my GPA and military background? How much closer in yalls opinion should i be to consider myself in a strong position? Thanks for the advice

By the way i can only speak for the marines which is definently not part time. You can do reserves though after an initial tour which is usually 4 years

I can speak for the Navy.  Either you can go in full time as a Legalman or go through Non-Prior Service Reserves program (I did) and then crossrate into Legalman (I did).  This for the enlisted side.
