2005 USNWR Law School Rankings
« on: March 31, 2004, 10:36:30 AM »
Hey All-
I thought some of you might be interested in these rankings.  They were posted on the new/old PR board last night and authenticated.  So, they seem to be legit.  Go to www.jd2b.com and click on the law message board to find the thread yourself to read them.  Anyway, here they are as posted last night.  I know nothing more, but I do believe them to be REAL.  -Amy

There are some changes in this list that I find highly unlikely, so Ill guess Ill have to find out on Friday.

I do not believe that UMKC and SLU belong in the top 100, and its almost ironic that USD and Loyola have swapped spots.

Yeah, I've been debating between Wash U with a full ride vs. Northwestern with a bit of money.  For personal reasons (family in St. Louis), I've been leaning toward Wash U, and this makes me feel better about it.  I hope these rankings are real--the other purported list had Wash U at #30.

How did Boalt drop out of the top 10!?!?!  If this has something to do with budget cuts, I'm so upset!!!!
I am thanking my lucky stars that I got into Boalt Hall!  Three more years in Berkeley.

Don't worry, Berkeley's still one of the best schools.  Frankly aside from the top 5 or 6, the next 10 or so seem all pretty close anyhow.

I agree with you, lawstudent2007, however firms still look at those rankings--unfortunately.  It's rather upsetting to see most of the UC law schools (with the exception of UCLA) go down a few notches.  I suspect that this might have something to do with the state government's budget cuts, and the UC system's failure to raise the student fees during the past 10 years!  Now UC students are faced with 40% increases in their tuition.  It wouldn't be so bad, if tuition was raised 2% or 5% every year for the past 10 years.  Oh well...hindsight is always 20/20.

I'm really surprised that UNLV is even ranked at all since it was just ABA approved recently. On top of that, I can't believe that it's #82 since that's my back-up at this point.
