I think that a rule should be set within the constitution for keeping threads on track, and moderators should be commissioned to deal with what I call "thread hijacking".  It can be rather frustrating to start a thread on the topic like GULC admissions info, and have it diverted to a discussion about the new hamburger at McDonald's by page three.

I think that if LSD were to make a fair rule about overt thread hijacking, and then follow it up with action from the moderators, then the community would fall into line.  In turn, the community here would begin to hold its own memebers and newbies accountable to the thread hijacking rule as well.

This would really make for some genuine discussion that stays on track and really digs deep on the issues.  :)
