Whats the procedure for withdrawing prior to decision?

Anyone have any advice on how to withdraw an application before decision?  Since I got into my #2, there is no point wasting #3's time so I wanna withdraw my application.  Email to the general admissions email addy?  phone call?  Is there any set way to do it?

I emailed Wake Forest to withdraw my application, and that seemed sufficient. They emailed me back and wished me good luck in the future.  I called Florida and they wanted me to write them a letter.  I think it depends on the school.  Your best bet is probably to put something in writing.
