Two pages mean double or single spaced?
« on: October 13, 2004, 06:07:17 PM »
Is it assumed that if an application says two pages that it should be double spaced. Anyone have a word count roughly to adhere to?
Thanks for any help.

Double space...I think this is the general rule of thumb.
"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle-victorious." - Vince Lombardi

double, you may be able to cheat and go 1.5 if you're pressed for room.

Yeah, i'm struggling with this too because my PS is like a paragraph too long and I can't seem to make it any shorter.  I might get creative and do like a 1.8 space or something.  I wonder if they'll care.  Maybe I should call the schools

try 10 or 11 point font and squeeze the margins down a little.

Don't you think that LS know these tricks though?  Do they just not care?

Also, does anyone know what kind of attachement your PS, etc should be if you are applying electronically (Word document or PDF?)  I'd perfer to send it as a PDF because then they can't do word counts and *&^% like that (I dont think they really do that anyway though).  Just wondering...

The good news is that I'm [--] this close to being finally done with this glorious thing that I call a personal statement!
