Electronic App-- Schools don't "Request your file"??
« on: October 11, 2004, 12:11:46 AM »
I'm going to submit my applications electronically (LSACD) and I'm confused about how this differs from paper applications.
When I transmit my application and follow all of the online instructions, have I officially "applied"?  Does this mean that if I use this method, schools will not have to "request my LSDAC file" because it will all be sent to them automatically?  Or, does the school actually have to request the info?
I just got confused b/c of all the people who are waiting on schools to request their file.  Thanks!

schools request your report after they receive your application, no matter how they receive it (paper vs. electronically).

Wow that makes much more sense now.  This application process is confusing/frustrating but not nearly as bad as my sister's application process for med school.  She has to worry about interviews, essays, waiting, and after all that she'll have to go be a doctor.  Muahaha
Anyways thanks for your help, and I like your trophy.  I wish I had one.

ha ha, thanks for the yoda compliment :)

med school apps totally suck.  the MCAT seems so much worse than the LSAT too.

Seriously.  She said she was there for hours and hours and even got a lunch break because the thing is SO long.  There is a lot of writing on the test, too, not just straightforward "multiple guess" questions like we have.  Consequently, she got her score around 4 MONTHS later because several people have to evaluate each essay.  I'm not sure I could put up with all that; I can't stand waiting for Oct 25th!

i love how in the midst of all the studying and stuff, they're expected to be reading the newspaper too, because one of the essays (or more?) is about current events.  fabulous.

i love the LSAT :)
