Fair enough Ruskiegirl - i see your point.
how are you liking berkeley? i went to visit last month and I really liked the school.
I like it a lot and it's a great fit for me. It isn't for everyone, so do your research and then decide which schools will be best for you.
When I was applying, I really wanted to go to Stanford. Mainly, it was because I thought that the good schools in the northeast were too cutthroat and snobby. I wanted to practice in California, and Stanford seemed like the natural choice for top reach school. I had Berkeley listed as second. The sad thing is, I am ashamed to say how little I knew about either school prior to applying. I just got lucky. Stanford rejected me and I got into Boalt, but the more I learn about each school, the more I realize that Boalt is perfect for me, and while Stanford remains a top school, it isn't one that is necessarily compatible with my political ideology, preferred learning environment, or general climate within the institution.
