Phone Call w/Dean of Admissions
« on: April 08, 2008, 02:49:36 PM »
Advice on how to ask a Dean for more money? I have already been given about 3/4 tuition at a top 20 law school, but I would like to use my admittance at Boalt as leverage to get even more money. Any ideas??

Take this for what's its worth, but I believe it's too early to play the Boalt card. I would try asking for more money in the later months, more closer towards the summer/second tuition deposit deadline. Has anyone else leveraged one school against another with the admissions/financial aid Gods?

Wait, you want to leverage an acceptance (no money) to get money? I don't think that would work. Maybe if you got in Yale or something, but I don't think just getting in at Boalt would be enough to increase an offer, if I were the Dean. Especially since you're already getting really good money from a good school.

Good luck, though.
