Accepting Financial Aid Package

I posted this on the app board but perhaps it is more appropriate here?

Basically my question is this:  What happens if you accept financial aid (meaning Stafford loans) from a school and then subsequently get accepted to a school you would prefer to go to that you weren't expecting?  If you withdraw from the first school, will this jeopardize your ability to get federal loans from another school?

First, call the school that gave you aid and find out what the REAL deadline is. I received a package that I have to accept by May 1st, but explained that I still haven't heard back from several schools and am on several waitlists. It turns out that is not 'really' the deadline... they were just trying to get people to complete the forms early.
