Penn State's jump is the most impressive?
« on: March 27, 2008, 12:09:34 PM »
This school is climbing up the rankings pretty well(91 last year, and 77 this year), and it seems to be getting better and better reputation points. how do you all feel about Penn State's future? is the jump due to the building and the added factors like increase name recognition and that the school is now getting a good grasp of it self after the merge? It seems Penn State is putting good money into the program, and its not just simply a cash grab machine.

may we possibly see Penn State a tier 1 school in the next 2-3 years???

thanks for the input.

Yeah, Penn St. definitely fell from 6th to 7th. The OP has his facts wrong.

Penn State DOES NOT EQUAL the University of Pennsylvania.  You people just suck.

I guess being tied with Chicago is all that matters to these people. I don't know why they have an inferiority complex, they have wireless and a perenial powerhous of a football team.

I don't get why but People seem to be able to sort out Michigan vs MSU. but for some reason the UPenn vs Penn State things still confuses the "best and brightest."

It is because there is a reverent fervor about Michigan on this board and a deep seated animosity toward UPenn.

That's ridiculous. Michigan will never be good at basketball again. You should apologize to Tom Izzo.

My gut feeling (maybe biased, I'm a PSU ugrad) is that it will probably get up to Temple/Pitt level in the rankings in the next few years but not much further.  The location of the campuses (campi?) is a drawback, as neither of them is near a major city.

I agree with you.
