What is provisional accredition?
« on: March 19, 2008, 04:29:00 PM »
Hi, university of Phoenix has provisional accredition, but I don't really understand what it is and I don't know if it is a wrong choice to go to this school...If they don't get a full accredition, so what happens to their graduates??!!Can they get a job?

thanks

Q:  What is provisional accredition?

A: A school with it is a school you should never attend.  End of story.

Don't even worry about what it means. If the school has it, don't go there.

Isn't Drexel provisionally accredited?  It is supposedly doing pretty well for a new school.  Provisional accreditation and going to a newer school does have drawbacks but I do not know if it is just a blanket rejection to ignore the school without further investigation of its accreditation process.  Just my two cents based on what I know about a school like Drexel.

Is this the same university of phoenix that's entirely online?  I feel like employers would be less comfortable with hiring someone who'd done their JD entirely online.  If they had to suffer the Socratic method, so must we...
