Get married. Have a baby. Change your mind. "I'm sorry, honey, but my heart is calling me to law school. We'll get a private bank loan to cover the living expenses for the next few years, and then we'll be just fine when I get out, cool?" What's she going to do? Walk away from you as a single mom? Why? Because you want to get more education and will eventually be better off financially? No. She'll stay. You'll have it all.

Basscadet, I'm glad to read that you dumped that broad.  She sounds like a real control freak and way too selfish for you to stick around her.

How dare anyone get in the way of anyone else's dreams.

Screw 'em.

None of my classmates have gotten pregnant this year (that I know of) but plenty wives have given birth. You learn to make due I suppose but it sounds as if fiancee wants to stay home wih the kids and not work. I'd suggest a reality check with numbers to show her the financial hardship if she wants to go that route. Maybe she'll come around and see the practical investment that is a license to practice law.

OP: Dump the current woman and pick up a cool 22 year old. Problem solved.

I also don't think that a deception as you've prescribed in your last paragraph is ethical, no offense.

Ha! And you want to be a lawyer...

It's no wonder you're not married.   ::)  Basing a marriage on a lie is a GREAT way to add to the divorce statistics.  Dumbass.

do both--have kids and go to law school at the same time.  I have a friend in the army and he had a baby before leaving for Iraq for a year.  If he can do it, you can do it! :D
