I don't know much about those parts of the Burgh- I am from South of the city. However, I can tell you that parking in Oakland is nightmareish. I live in DC now, and I'd prefer to go on a quest for a safe spot to stick my car here any day.

Oh wow, I'm from DC and hated parking there so for Oakland to be worse says a whole lot to me.  :(

I guess I'll just have to do a marathon tour of all the neighborhoods if I decide to go to Pitt. A friend of mine went to Med School at UPitt so I plan on asking her as well.
