To be honest, you should probably wait to ask this question until after you're accepted. After all, there's no use in worrying over something that's only a potential possibility.
Also, the crux of your decision is going to end up on where you want to practice. If you want California, go to Hastings. If you want Chicago or surrounding areas, go to UIUC.
I agree... I could post "Duke vs. Cornell" but I'm not wasting my time until I get an actual decision. It's good that you're considering your choices, but don't fall into the trap of counting your chickens before they're hatched.
That being said, they're in such disparate locations, you really can't get much more different than Urbana-Champaign and San Francisco. I'd definitely choose UIUC over Hastings (I've applied to both of them, myself), but I'd much rather prefer to stay in this half of the country anyway.
Finally, not to be an ass or anything, but it's Champaign. Pronounced the same, but it's not the drink, nor the region in France.
