ITT: we make ourselves feel better about our thesis

Man I feel like I'm way behind on my thesis. And this site isn't helping any right now.

Please tell me other people are struggling on their thesis as well!

i couldnt even type in a web address last night to attempt my thesis.

How far are you? I have a small lit review done, a vague outline in my head, and a bunch of ideas and points scribbled on some notebook paper. I still have to get it approved by a committee and start writing.

Luckily the bar isn't incredibly high at my school for undergrad, so I'm not too worried.

I'm amazed I even finished my UG thesis last year.  And, my advisor made me cut it down about 10 pages (which was a good thing).  Short but sweet.

My advice is to set aside at least one day a week where you absolutely do thesis work for at least 8 hours.

The thesis for my major, history, is somehow optional. I love it.

My thesis is a philosophy thesis and will be mostly argumentation.

My question: Under what circumstances, if any, is invasive scientific testing on animals justified?

My thesis: Invasive scientific testing on animals is only justified if the research serves a life-saving purpose and is conducted to minimize harm to the animal.

(So basically you can't kill or torture animals for lip stick or shear curiosity and if you use them for life saving research you need to minimize the harm to them). I'm still working on the argumentation outline a little bit and might have to tweak the thesis statement a bit.

What's everyone else doing? Tink?

Although I finished, thought I'd throw my topic into the pile.  As an English major, I wrote on Paradise Lost and certain philosophical/metaphysical influences visible in the poem.

I feel this way too, for sure.  Thankfully I have a supervisor who keeps me on the ball and demands 5 pages every week or so.

I've probably put 150 hours into mine so far and expect another 100 or so.
