Probably not all that often over the next couple days; have a memo due.

What have you heard about Stanford dropping grades for 1L? Why should I choose Stanford? Why did you choose Stanford? Is it worth it?

"What have you heard about Stanford dropping grades for 1L?"

Could go either way--lots of strong support and dissent.  I'd imagine the system would look something like Yale's.  If change comes, I think it will be a done deal by this fall.

"Why should I choose Stanford?"

Your question is a bit assumptive, in that it seems to imply that I would care where you end up.  Why might one choose Stanford?  Great school in a great area.  I wouldn't recommend it over Yale, and I'd say it's basically a tossup with Harvard.

"Why did you choose Stanford?"

See above.

"Is it worth it?"

I'd be willing to pay $30-40,000 more to go here than any one of CCN.  Others with different preferences and inclinations might weigh matters differently.

Any idea when we'll hear about the grading? It's very intriguing to me. I think it would seal the deal--no competition would be wonderful.

Grade change is not looking so likely at the moment, but Dean Kramer has indicated that if passed, it wouldn't take effect until fall 2009.  Hope this helps!
SLS '10 and now working.  PM me if you want to get in touch!

When you say it's a toss-up with Harvard, what do you mean? Is it a more pleasant place to be for the next three years? :)
Winner of this challenge: Harvard, NYU, Columbia, UPenn, Michigan, Berkeley, Duke, UCLA
Still in line: Yale, Stanford
Safe for the next round:

What were some of the deciding factors that put SLS over HLS for you?
