Waitlisted at Duke, really I'm kind of surprised about it. Was expecting a rejection.

I got a letter in the mail. How do these schools decide who they're going to deny and how they're going to deny them? I interned in undergrad admissions after I graduated...I want to do the same in law school. I am so curious about it.
