My Georgetown rejection letter finally arrived today.  But I just came from a great open house at Temple, so I really couldn't care less!

Fixt.

Ha.  Thanks.  :)

People say that ALL the time.  I really don't get why.

Say what all the time?

People say "I could care less" (instead of "I couldn't care less) about something they don't care about, which of course, doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If you don't care about something (whatever it is), then admitting that you could actually care less just undermines your point.

In my defense, I understand it ("...could care less") doesn't make sense and is the opposite of what I meant, which is why I thanked Chris Rock for correcting me.  I think it's just a common mistake people make in spoken conversation.

ha! i knew it. when i was 10 i wrote a short story for a magazine and somewhere i wrote "i couldn't care less." the editor changed it to "i could care less" before publishing it. try as i might, i could never understand why anyone would say they were capable of caring less about something.  ::)

Posted elsewhere, but put on Reserve at Cornell (got a letter on Friday).  It was very friendly.

Is this the same at WL?
