Dinged at BC today after being deferred for months...ugh.  At least they were kind enough not to wait until their deadline to do so. (their deadline to mail out decisions is 2/29.)

Yea, real nice people over there to give you that notice a week in advance. Kind of surprised given your almost perfect GPA. Better luck on your last 2 pending.

I wasn't being sarcastic, although I must admit it's a little frustrating.  You apply EA, and it takes them months just to reject you?  I know they have a lot of applications, but deadlines for schools is rapidly approaching.

I think that schools should have their own regular-decision deadlines pushed further up, so many of their decisions don't come so late.

You should get a decent scholarship from W&L, amped. I can't remember your GPA exactly, but since your LSAT is high enough it won't matter that much. If you visit W&L and like it, that seems like the good choice with $$$.

yeah i'm hopin for one. even without a scholarship it'd probably be at least 10k a year cheaper for cost of attendance. the more i read about w&l the more i like it. plus it'll be dirt cheap to live there and probably a better area in which to raise a daughter. something about small class size really attracts me too. my undergrad has almost 30,000 enrolled so i think i'd really like the environment.

My total cost of attendance at W&L would be $30,820/year. The scholarship is conditional, which is the only negative...but it's easy to keep. You just have to be in the top 85% or so (>3.0 with a mean GPA of 3.34 or something). Though, I think I've heard of them working with you if you're in danger of losing it.

You might get $15k/year instead of my $20k. That still puts you $25,000/year ahead of GW.
