Wait list

I was just wondering how long it usually takes for a wait list to turn into a rejection/acceptance.

I have a friend that waited until three days before classes started to be rejected. I would say that you can expect April to be the earliest. Search LSN for the schools you are concerned about for the 2006-2007 cycle and you can gauge their approach.
