I suppose that's true, just make sure you marry in California or become biffles with a future divorce attorney in law school!!

I work at a V50 firm in NYC. The amount of adultery, and the amount of times I've been hit on by married men ranging from associates to partners, is truly sickening. The law, at least biglaw, seems to breed adulterous affairs (long hours, late nights, family living in LI or Westchester, etc.)--now I'm not saying that I wouldn't marry a male biglaw attorney--I'm just saying that it is a common occurence especially in high-pressure firms in big cities.

I wouldn't care about that, as long as I got half the paycheck, and half the earnings when he leaves me for a younger associate

Since I watch too much Law and Order and all of that I'd be too worried that he'd off me before he'd give me half the paycheck.

No, I want a house husband that will be home to clean all day and have dinner on the table when I come home (whenever that might be). Oh, and he must never talk back and have absolutely no opinions of his own (with the exception of the necessary things that I don't want to be bothered with, like what shade of beige to paint the living room and how to fold towels).

Can this house husband have a J.D.?

Flame.  This household will be able to afford neither paint nor towels.

Or you can be like Charlotte in Sex and the City and just straight up tell your future mother-in-law that you'll only sign the pre-nup if you get $1 mill if you split.

Not to mention that if we plan to have kids, someone's going to have to raise them.  I talk too much and am waaayyy too competitive and not feminine enough to raise children.

just sayin', don't underestimate the chemical power of hormones. I would've been voted least likely to have children, and I NEVER planned on staying home with them.

You could probably afford a good nanny on two biglaw salaries.  :D

Why have kids in that case?
If I knew I wouldn't/couldn't/didn't want to be around to raise them, I wouldn't have children.
Children aren't for everybody.
