LSAT ADVANCED (160+) prep course?
« on: February 02, 2008, 01:55:00 PM »
Hi guys.

I was reading this site and the stuff below about what classes to take to take the June LSATs.  At my school (Northwestern U), there is a class being taught for students where the people in the class are required to have a high score to be in the class - I think like a 160 and take a test first to be in it.

Have you guys heard anything about this "LSAT Advanced"?  Does it work? It starts in April, so I think I should have time to get the score to take the class.

Any help would be greatly aprpeciated!

Someone told me that NU had an exclusive contract with Kraplan.  Is that who's doing it?

A 160 to be in the class?

I haven't heard anything about this - but if it had been available for me I probably would have taken it.  What are you scoring now?  Who is offering the class? (kaplan? princeton?)

I know kaplan had "stratosphere" when i took it - which was great material but they didn't teach it in class.

I called them and its a new 80-hour, elite course with a 99th testing instructor, all previous tests and the lady said the score requirement is a 158.  I've been scoring in the mid and upper 150s so I think I'm going to do it.  I guess it is only offered in limited areas, so I'll let you know how it goes.

Anyone else started an Advanced class? wolverine07?  just want a heads up.  I started doing some of kaplan's preview materials before the class starts in a couple weeks.  SHould I be starting on the materials before the class?

thanks in advance

I've never been a fan of Jeffort's random youtube-linked posts, but I just looked at the Kaplan "Summer Intensive Program" he pointed out in his post and my reactions went something like this:

-navigates to website
-*scratches head*
-lol.
-Seriously?
-LOL.
-HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
-(Doubles over)

Thanks Jeffort.  That was the comedic high point of my day.

Jeffort, although I admire that you try to help people on this site, cluttering a discussion about a class you don't like doesn't help people.  I'm not leaving the class anytime soon and your vendetta against kaplan is tiring.

I'm incredibly happy with the materials and the layout of the class that I have seen so far. I'm trying to get more out of the class and make it worthwhile by reaching out to other advanced students.

thanks in advance for not posting any more on this thread and for not hijacking this discussion any more than you have.
