Do the titles of courses matter?

I am taking classes outside of my major for more variety, does it necessarily look better on my transcript for law schools if I am taking, say "Inequality of Social Class" rather than "Sport of Gender", or will they just be looking at the fact that they are both upper division courses?

I think you are splitting hairs to such an extent here.  Realistically, your admission will not come down to this.  Furthermore, I doubt they look further than the fact they are both 200, 300 level classes.

do law schools even get your transcript? I thought all they got was the LSAC report

I suspect 400 and 500/600 levels (if your school lets you take graduate classes) will make a difference, though...

I took two grad-level classes my sophomore year. They were numbered 109 and 114. Then, the next year, my school went to a different numbering system. So now it looks like those two classes were freshmen courses. Transcripts almost always have keys, but the question is whether or not the adcomms look. I suppose if they look at course numbers to gauge difficulty/level, then they must look at the key.
