If you do rent a car, which isn't the most horrible idea I've ever heard if you can get one $20 a day or so (hint:  if you know you are going to Michigan, join the ABA Student Division and get Hertz car rental rates without paying under 25 surcharges as a member), then you can park for free at the Campus Inn (if that's where you are staying, which most of you will be).

I haven't gotten tix yet so I don't know exactly when I'm getting in.  I'm planning on Wednesday though.  It's worth it not to feel like hell the whole of Thursday.

well it's a mixed blessing.  Being 25 is the last time you get a government mandated age based benefit until you can collect social security and withdraw from your IRAs without penalty.   ;D

I'm not going to be 25 until I'm a 1L.

I'm fairly sure I'll be taking the train to AA, despite the 16 hour travel time. I'll save about $100-$200 by taking the train, but it means I'll arrive at Midnight on Wednesday. Has anyone talked to Michigan about helping with Wednesday night arrangements? Considering that they are setting us up with a good deal on lodging already I feel somewhat guilty even asking them what to do on Wednesday night.

So are there any testimonials from people who have gone to previous ASW, or specifically a Michigan ASW? Is it fun? Social? Or lonely and awkward?

They are what you make of them, but I'd say for most people, they are the opposite of lonely and awkward.

Unless you're just a lonely and awkward person.  Like me.

Bah! just fudge your computer loans next year and take out an extra 200 bucks.  You're gonna be DEAD after that train ride through about 10 boring states.  Totally not worth it.

...not that anyone here fudged their computer loans...
