Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Tulane Waitlist?
« on: June 13, 2005, 11:17:48 AM »
Did you speak with the school or do you know someone who got pulled in?

I turned down more money at Hofstra (T2) for DePaul (T3).

Sleepy,
I was obviously exaggerating. I agree with everything you said. All I was saying is that for some people, schools like SC fit their needs better.

Well crap, lets just close down all the schools outside of the big cities.

I applied to USC and would have gone there over DePaul. I wanted to go somewhere in the boonies to get away and focus on school, where there was great weather and where everything would revolve around school. I did the city experience for undergrad (GWU), and wanted to try something different for law school.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: June Waitlist Fallout

I am willing to wait on W&M and Tulane until the middle of August. If the others get back this month I will change my mind. But it looks like W&M and AU are full for next year.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Tulane Waitlist?

Anyone heard anything about the waitlist at Tulane?
Right now I have decided to go to DePaul, but I am hoping to get off the waitlist to Tulane. It doesn't look like there were that many WLs on LSN, so I am curious if anyone has any info on how many they take off, if they take anyone, etc.
Thanks!

Has anyone been to Hofsta? I would like an impression before I go up there.

Yeah I am going fulltime. 18k is much more manageable than the 20+k I was left with at DePaul. Otherwise the CoL is roughly the same (as per LSAC).

I agree that DePaul is probably better than Hofstra in terms of competing with local schools, which is a big reason I am torn (that and I much prefer Chicago to New York). I am trying to see if DePaul would up my scholly to keep me (any hints from those who have tried anywhere else?).

I am trying to go to Hofstra this weekend to check out the school. I like DePaul (nothing special in my mind, though the library was sweet), but want to have something to compare.

If nothing works out I will demand that DePaul hands over my scholly to supernga (if that is your real name) forthwith.

Choosing the Right Law School / Now what? Hofstra or DePaul

The game has grown curiouser....

DePaul with $3.5 a year
or
Hofstra with $12k per year?

I prefer Chicago and think DePaul probably has more to offer in Chicago than Hofstra has in NY. However, I ultimately think I will end up back at my current firm in DC when I am done.

I am leaning towards Hofstra, but with a quick turnaround for a large deposit ($850 on 6/9), and still hoping I get into W&M or Tulane (my top two), I still reluctant. Then again I will be getting what amounts to a free year at Hofstra....
