tag for people who may have actually done statistical analysis of this!

Law School Admissions / Re: biochemistry major fit for law school?

the sample size isn't big enough.

what if these "easy" major people spent all of their free time volunteering, playing varsity, acting, being musical or other soft factors that law schools appreciate.

Just because their grades were supposedly easier to come by does not invalidate their other accomplishments (whatever they may be) which we, unfortunately, know nothing about.

Of course, I may be talking out my ass - perhaps vandy has a strict 3.42 cut-off.

So confused about this. Why does the US seem a more exciting place to study and practice the law?

need more input from Canadians who have chosen for and against the top schools in the US. Where are all of you?

Funny, I created the thread for the NYU March 2 ASW and thought the same thing as you did Schruted.

I wrote up a rather lengthy review for the March 2 ASW for another forum; I can repost here if there is interest.

please do. I like my opinions pre-made.

moi aussi.

Damn the man, save the Empire.

I'll assume you speak for all. I return a hearty thanks.

I'll be the guy huddled in the corner, attempting to avoid disrupting the cohesive flow of Columbia Law. I like it better when I am ignored. Unless I am accepted before the day ... in that case I will be a wildman. eddy forming.

i haven't actually been accepted nor do I have any idea if I will be and based on how late I applied (and other reasons) it seems unlikely that I will be, but I still plan on attending on the 29th. You admits okay with that!?

Canadian Law Students / Re: Canadian financial aid options

well, my search for scholarships should have started months ago. Darn.

I may take a year off and reapply next year - this whole borrowing $180,000 seems to be more difficult than expected. That said, I am heading to NYU for a visit in a few weeks and will try and get more concrete answers there.
