Doesnt the ABA prohibit working during your fulltime 1L year -- or at least there is a cap on the hours. Schoolwork is DEFINITELY most important!!

Hi. So Fall interview program is coming up and I heard that it might be a good idea to set up informational interviews with some employers to bolster one's chances. This said, how on earth does one go about setting up such interviews? Email? call? Letter?

I work 3 days a week and go to law school evenings. It works out. I oculd have worked 4 days a week this semester. Basically the long days are the worst. When you put your dinner in at 930 dont think you are going to be getting much substantive reading done!! YOu need to do the bulk of your weeks reading over the weekend. Prepare to take the week before and the weeks during finals off.

Hey! I would definitely send them in writing a letter explaining to them why you want to go to their school. Your reasons should of course include your personal family situation but they should also include reasons why you are a match for Rutgers in particular and what programs they have which mirror your personal interests. I would not frame the letter in a time sensitive way but I would make it clear to them that you will attend if accepted. In the meanwhile, I would PAY the deposit to the second school. Law schools expect this it's just the nature of the game. I think emailing Rutgers and telling the I want to go here but you have to accept me before 4/31 would be inappropriate. I think emailing them with a letter expressing your strong interest would be the classier and more productive route.

If you are admitted late in the game (because u applied late in the game) then your deadline for returning a deposit would be shifted back to give you a good reasonable amount of time to decide!!
