General Board / Question for any this crazy?
« on: April 30, 2006, 09:19:45 AM »
Ok so I have a quick question for any PT students on here. I was recently accepted into New England School of Law's part-time program. I am from the greater Hartford/Middletown Connecticut area which is about 2 hours from Boston. Would it be stupid to just stay in CT and take the Amtrak to Boston 3 days a week for classes? Or do you think this will get old after 4 years? How long is the commute for some of you PT's. Any advice would be great. Thanks!!!

Also if there are any NESL students on here do they have a part to full option???

I got off the waitlist Saturday. I think I'm going to be attending. I personally really like the school. The reputation is good for a 4th tier school. Although if you want to stay and practice in a Boston firm you'll have a lot of competition from other schools.

I'm thinking about moving closer. I moved home from Boston last December and moved in with my father in CT. My apt was wicked exspensive in Boston and a big reason is I could live for  free with the exception of food and what-not. Plus monthly passes on Amtrak aren't that bad.  And I could stay working with the attorney I've been working with since January a couple days a week. But then again a lot of people are advising me to move back to Boston and look for a job. Decisions, decisions...

PT acceptance yesterday! I definately think I'm going to attend. Anybody think commuting from CT 2 hours on the Amtrak three days a week is insane???

Where should I go next fall? / Vent/Rant...No need to reply

Ok so I just need to let off a little steam. There's no need to reply...

Anyway, as of today, April 28, 2006 I am still in nowhere. I am well aware that my poor LSAT score has much to do with this but it's still frustrating. I have three WL, one reject and two no-hears. Limbo is friggin' terrible.

What's worse is that I'm serving as an intern for a local attorney who handles the type of law I want to get into (small business), and everytime I'm introduced to another attorney or a client it's like "oh are you a lawyer?" and I say "no", "oh where did you graduate law school", and I say "I haven't been yet", and then it's "oh where are you going" and finally I have to say "I don't know yet." It's becomming quite embarassing.

Even worse is my family will not leave me alone. I'm working for free at the attorney's office and living off savings. But, I'm hoping to get a paying job at a company I did two internships for over the summer. Anyway all I ever hear is "you need a paying job", "have you gotten accepted anywhere yet?", "I told you that you should have taken a professional prep course", "I knew you were going to blow the LSAT, you were doing too much last year", among other things.

So basically I just need to vent and say I'M SICK OF EVERYBODY and sick of not being in anywhere.

Yes I know a lot of others are in a very similar situationa and again my LSAT score basically merits nowhere this year but I still want to vent.

Oh well I'm registered for the June LSAT, looks like it might be 2007 for me.

Best Regards to all, especially those who read this far...

No word from RWU and FCSL. I've been complete at RWU since January, what the hell?
