well my GPA went from a 3.56 to a 3.7...not sure if that is enough of a difference to merit another review of my application.

Choosing the Right Law School / Southwestern, Chapman Seat Deposits?
« on: June 18, 2007, 11:18:20 AM »
When are they?  I am waitlisted and am wondering when the 1st and 2nd seat deposits are for both schools?  I imagine the 2nd has be soon if it has not already occurred.

what does everyone think of attending school in the midwest and coming back to my home state (CA)?  I know it is very difficult because interships and summer employment generally determine your job.  How unrealistic would route?

Incoming 1Ls / what to do before law school?
« on: June 18, 2007, 10:40:48 AM »
Besides working, what is everyone doing to prepare for law school?  I am thinking of getting a legal terminology book and familiarizing myself with new terms.  I am also thinking about physically training my body to deal with the long nights of studying and strenuous requirements.

very true...this law school dilemma is driving me insane!

Most definitely!  I understand starting salary will differ from regions and rankings.  Los Angeles and T14 schools will have higher starting salaries than very reputable midwest T25 schools.  My question is whether it is worth it to go to a T3 midwest school compared to a provisionally accredited school in Los Angeles (where the market it much more lucrative)?  Even though La Verne is provisionally accredited and will probably be fully accredited the school has been around for awhile...

What does everyone think about La Verne?  It is provisisionally accredited and I am debating possibly going back to the midwest instead of staying in Cali?  After talking to several lawyers about their law school experience one theme stood out.  Unless you go to a T14 nobody cares where you went to law school as long as you an adept and versed lawyer.

I have substantially raised my GPA and am wondering if I can be considered for admission in the same cycle after I have been denied?

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Drake Waitlist, anybody?
« on: June 18, 2007, 09:54:06 AM »
I wonder how many apps Drake selects off the waitlist on average each year...anyone?

I wonder why your friend had so much trouble getting interviews?  Top 20% from Southwestern is rather respectable in my opinion?  It is wierd how Southwestern and Chapman waitlist the hell out of everyone and from the look of things (lawschoolnumbers) Cal Western does not....
