Visits, Admit Days, and Open Houses / La Verne, is anyone alive?

What is La Verne's situation?  I know they are provisionally accredited, but what does the future hold for them? I heard there stats have gotten better since last year, but that does not necessarily mean in a year that they will be fully approved by the ABA.  Also, I heard that they give out 8-12k scholarships, does anyone know if this is per year or over a three year period?

Visits, Admit Days, and Open Houses / Transfer across states?
« on: February 13, 2007, 11:29:47 PM »
I know that it is not recommended to transfer from one law school to another. I would like to stay in California and practice law.  Also, I would like to go to a half-way reputable law school. Like most LSAT takers I feel as though it not a sufficient predictor of what I am capable of doing.  With that said, what does everyone think about transferring?  I am scared of going to La Verne due to its poor reputation and the notion that it is brand new and hasn't proven itself.  What do you think?  Can I transfer out of that school?  Or should I go to Hamline and try to transfer back to Ca?  Or go to Whittier or Thomas Jefferson and try to tansfer to San Diego?  Please Help.
LSAT re-take is out of the question.

Visits, Admit Days, and Open Houses / Hamline v. Cal Western???
« on: February 09, 2007, 09:37:57 AM »
I am not sure where I should.  I am from California but had good ties to the midwest.  To be honest, I am a country boy at heart!  I am a little nervous about the attrition rate and grading curve at California Western.  Then again, I would rather live in Southern California and pracitice law.  Also, the difference in tuition is a big factor.  Cal Western is ridiculously expensive on all accounts: tuition, living, and partying????  Hamline seems safe but if I go there will I basically be eliminating my chance at working in California??

Incoming 1Ls / Percentage of Waitlisters Accepted....
« on: February 06, 2007, 09:54:31 AM »
I was on Deloggio's website and it said some schools get nearly all their waitlisters in.  Do you know what schools take a large percentage of their waitlisters into thier jd program?  Specifically, Drake, Creighton, Texas Tech, Cal Western, and Chapman, any news would be helpful.  Thanks
