Transfer into a Top 4 school seems to be worth it, not so sure about Penn.  What does one have to lose?

Is top 25% good enough?  By the way, by Mid Top14, I mean Penn or Columbia.

1L at FSU.....right, sure.

Well....how bad do you really want to go to law school right now?

There's always Cooley...seriously.

And if you don't mind a lot of diversity, then you might want to look into Southern in La. Or North Carolina Central...you probably have a 50/50 shot of getting into either of those schools right now...

However, you best bet would be to study for the LSAT like gangbusters and at least try to get your score above a 151. Then apply to a part time program at a 3rd or 4th tier school that takes the higher score. You should have some better success with that.

Some one in here (or someone has to know someone) has to be atteding one of these schools and know whether ther are any visiting students.

Assume someone who has top 50% grade at a school similiar to Stetson. What are the typical pros and cons?

What are the Pros and Cons?

Questions:

1) Can one be a visit student as a 2L or is it only for 3Ls?? Can it be one semester instead of a whole year?

2) Can a visiting student participate in the new school's OCI or....at least utilize the career service office?

3) How competitive is admission? For transfers, one need to be at least top 1/3.... top 1/5 enough as latteral visit or even upgrade visit?

4)If visit one semester is allowed, can one visit two schools for a semester each to maximize "connection" to different regions?

Law School Admissions / Re: What's the deal with Baff?
« on: December 26, 2005, 12:53:18 PM »
He exposed himself way too much, he even talked about his criminal record in details.  Not often, but he did make at least one or two nutty comment (actually very nutty and should have deleted from this board).

I agree, he seemed somewhat smart. He actually had decent numbers, but somehow end up at a Tier 4 law school unlike Ruskie who had similiar numbers but end up at a Top 14.

He just seemed to not agree with the elitist/pretentious sh*t that certain people would shove at him, I never read anything nutty from him.

In fact, I remember once when he actually broke down statistically the limited correlation between LSAT and 1L success, which impressed me, considering I can barely add.

He never said anything that unusual.  He just tagged a lot of threads.

I completely disagree; way before the tagging era, there was the baffing era.  There are few people (including Pookie, Eva/Desi, Baff and Ruskie) whom I remember on this board and Baff is definately one of them.

Sometimes, it is what he said and other times it's how he said it....very Baffly.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: Florida - "No Action" = Deferred?
« on: December 25, 2005, 10:04:38 PM »
That's not a waitlist; at a waitlist, you have a much better chance.

Your letter seem more like a deferral, which can be compare to "We will take you if you get very crappy applicants this year," which is not likely be the case.

But, you still have hope/chance untill you get that rejection letter.

I just got an email from Florida saying theyve reviewed my app and decided not to make a decision.  They say I will get a final decision by April 1. via mail.  Is this considered a deferral?

That "usually" end up being a late rejection very late in the admission game.  Expect as late as July.

so youre saying their 'decision by April' will be that im waitlisted?  what are you basing this on?

Studying for the LSAT / Re: Advice for 140's plz...

Below is a list of schools that you might get in with your chance of getting in next to the name of each school (keep in mind that the chances are NOT very accurate, because it's simply a prediction and it might be outdated as well)

May I ask what your nationality is and which school you attended for undergrad and your major?

Why do you want to go into law?  Are you plan to stay in America after law school?
