Anyone else notice that LSN has been extremely slow and often inaccessible lately?  What's the deal?

Law School Admissions / Schools with Online Status Check
« on: November 01, 2006, 08:49:50 PM »
I think this might be of help to some applicants (myself included).  For example, I just discovered that you have to sign up for Georgetown's online status check, rather than them automatically signing you up when you apply to the school (a la UVA).  Are there any other schools that allow for online stat check, and more specifically, are there any that need to be registered for manually?

Got an email saying they received my application and about 5 minutes later they requested my LSDAS report.  Hopefully they'll send out a (positive) decision soon!

Law School Admissions / First Fee Waiver
« on: March 27, 2006, 04:15:57 PM »
I just received my first law school application fee waiver from Santa Clara.  It's exciting, and will hopefully be the first of more to come, though unfortunately I have little to no interest in west coast law schools.  Just wanted to share my good news with you.

Do law schools only get see your LSAT score after you register for the LSDAS?  Is that how they get the info they need to send you fee waivers?

Studying for the LSAT / Post Mortem - February Writing Sample (Poll)
« on: February 05, 2006, 11:51:48 AM »
...just trying to give some love to the often neglected writing sample.

I only wrote down one thing on my scratch paper ("circulation?"), then proceeded to write the essay.
I noticed a bunch of people did some very extensive outlines on their scratch paper.  That seemed like a waste of time, not because the writing sample is unscored, but because the question being asked was simple and it was very easy to support an answer IMHO.
