So itís getting about time to start making decisions, and I really am not sure what to do. I have been accepted to Duquesne in Pittsburgh, Drexel in Philly, pace in NY, and FP in NH. Problem is, I have no idea where to go... I practically have no money for law school, and I'm going to get the 18500 from the government, the rest will need to be paid out of pocket. Drexel gave me a 14000 scholarship, meaning I wouldnít have to pay anything, which is ideal, although the school is not accredited and who knows if I can def. maintain the 3.0 gpa... then comes Duquesne, which is like 22k a year, which is not bad, and I could probably afford it, yet I know nothing about Pittsburgh and if Duquesne is a good law school... lastly, I just got into pace, which is ideal because its so close to my home in NJ, yet its like 32k, meaning I would have to pay a significant amount out of my pocket which I donít have... FP I visited and just didnít like...

so there is my conundrum... and Iím so stuck in between choices... a part of me says go to Drexel for free, but then my rationality says "are u nuts" what if they donít get accreditation or u lose the scholarship, and the other part says go to Duquesne, its tier 3, its in the city, but I donít know n e thing about it and id have to leave my home state of jersey which I've never done. And then thereís pace, which I really liked, but canít afford...

So now that I have ranted for too long, what do you guys and girls think? I could use all the advice/input/comments I could get... what would u do in this case? Thank you so much for the help everyone!

I was wondering if anyone who has been following the rankings over the past few years, could tell me wht the rankings were for pace. Werent they a tier 3 at one point? any reason they went down to a tier 4? any chance of them coming back to the 3rd tier? Any info I could get would be much appreciated. thanks guys

Choosing the Right Law School / Drexel Scholarship
« on: February 04, 2006, 01:54:42 PM »
I was offered a scholarship at Drexel. The letter says its 14k which is renewable each "quarter." What does that mean? Each semester? Each year? If anyone has had this problem or can give me some insight i would appreciate it. Im just wondering if i got a 14k scholarship or a 28k scholarship (big difference)

Hey guys, i am really considering Duqesne Law and would love to get some more information if possible. Any current students have reviews? anyone visited? anything about pittsburgh in general? All the info could really help me out. Thanks again!

Financial Aid / Desperately need help with Financial Aid
« on: January 14, 2006, 11:49:08 AM »
Ok I have quite a few questions about filing for financial aid and the fafsa.

first, i need to file the fafsa asap correct? How can i do this however, if i still havent recieved my w-2s from last year. On the fafsa app do i need to include my parents income? Another thing is I only worked about 2 months last year from oct-dec so my year to date is significantly low. I have no money in the bank, savings etc, so theres practically nothing to put on the fafsa. Is this going to be some sort of problem? Will it look sketchy that im including practically nothing?

Once i figure out how to fill the fafsa out, wht do i do about sending the stuff to law schools? I heard u can only add 6 school codes at once. Then what do i do about the rest? I applied to quite a few and need the info sent to all schools. how do i do this?

any other help or info would be really appreciated! thank you so much everybody!

Hey everybody, i have a few questions regarding financial aid and my Fafsa application.

I just moved out of my house in september to my own apartment. I am currently independant. i have no wife or children and am only 21 years old. i have a very small part time job i work once a week on the books. i get money under the table to pay rent. what should i put on my fafsa to get the most financial aid? do i list that i am independant? if so do i have to include anything about my parents. will this give me the most aid? or should i say im dependant which my parents will let me do and put their info it. common sense would say the former, but these reports are far from common. i just need to get the most possible, because my credit is poor and getting secondary loans will be rather difficult. any help and advice would be really appreciated. thanks so much in advance!

i wanted to apply to a few more safetys in the tier 4, maybe even tier 3 range that i could get a decent scholarship at. Barry sent me a letter saying i could get 24k over three years so i may send an app in there. can anyone else recomend some schools that i have a good shot at scholarship money, and especially any school i could get a free ride at? i would really apreciate the help!!
btw in case u missed it... 152 lsat, 3.62(3.59) gpa tons of extras and solid lors and ps

Law School Admissions / Applying via Paper... how do you get reports?
« on: November 01, 2005, 11:34:02 PM »
This is probably a dumb question.. but when you send in a Paper App... what happens? Does the law school, upon reciept of your app, request your report through LSADS? Then I have to sign on and buy a 12 dollar report and its all set? Just trying to get all the logistics down before I send some out. Thanks!

I appled to Widener as a safety since the App was free, but it had to be the most confusing application. I went to their website and filled it out, but there was no option to attach anything. How do i send them my resume??? Also, there was no certification letter? Is this right? Lastly, How do i send them reports, it will just request it through lsac even though i didnt apply through lsac? If i could get some answers to these questions I would really appreciate it. thanks!
