If you're as dedicated to this as it sounds you are, then it seems you have deeper (not superficial $$$) reasons for wanting to be a lawyer and the world needs more lawyers like you. that is so kind, thank you! Youre hired when i start my practice

It can only help your chances because, as things stand now, you will get in only if they are willing to overlook your lsat because of other strengths you have. Given that, even if you retake it and if the worst happens and you score even lower (which I don't think is likely given your practice scores) that won't hurt your chances. And a higher score might make the difference. thank you very much..To be honest, I am over the $$ aspect of being a lawyer (which i am told by present lawyers, isn't as great as you'd think unless you are in BIGLAW)...I want to work for non-profits (specifically, the ronald mcdonald house, as I have a history with them) regardless, i am not a quitter, and I don't like to go down with out a fight, so I just need to get a plan in gear as to what is the next step... 45
Studying for the LSAT / Re: So what went wrong« on: June 27, 2005, 03:29:16 PM »Why would you want to settle for a tier 4 school ? If you can't do well on the LSAT how do you expect to pass the bar? Ban yourself from this forum (or troll like me till you brought me out) and study. Well, I don't think I am settling by trying to go to a t4 and transfer up... I want to stay in Chicago, and I am doing what i think is necessary.. And yes, my dream would be to get into a great school like harvard-- but here's the thing- I work at a law firm. Our partners are JMLS grads.. we have harvard grads working for them (and they are just associates, and not just out of school associates, older people)..My point is that there are some people who will be happy and successful going to a lower tiered school.. And I've been out of school for almost 10 years. I will pass the bar, well because I would have been in law school for 3 years, and had time to prep for it... I took the lsat not right of college, or even 2 years out of college..I waited a long time (compared to most) Just my opinion... 46
Studying for the LSAT / Re: So what went wrong« on: June 27, 2005, 03:23:32 PM »John Marshall takes the highest (thank goodness)And I am finding I don't necesarrily trust what schools publish, as I am meeting people who get into schools with scores outside the prinited LSAT boundaries (lower). For example, JMLS claims their lowest admitted LSAT is a 152, however, I've met people who got in with 145's... I can apply now if I wanted to (JMLS has rolling admissions).. For me, it's pretty much all or nothing..I've been out of school for a while, had a career, and I am ready to move on to the next phase of my life...Right now I feel I am in limbo with this LSAT stuff..Because that is what is keeping me from ls.. I won't give up, but on the same token, I have to know when it's time cut my losses, if that makes any sense... 47
Studying for the LSAT / Re: So what went wrong« on: June 27, 2005, 03:18:17 PM »Oh my gosh it is soooo good to see a post from somebody who is struggling like me. Gail- Where did you want to apply to? 154 with a great undergrad could get you get you into a good school, i would think? Are you going to ask for a refund btw? I should have after the first time, but decided to retake. BIG mistake.. 48

Legallassie-
I am sort of hestitant now, I just wasted $1000 for Kaplan, and took it 2x.. Didn't do anything in regards to helping my score..I'd never heard of testmasters until i came here, and I am kicking myself for not going that route- as it seems it's a better course than Kaplan! 49

I am really just looking at tier 4 schools... John Marshall in particular since I am in Chicago..I was hoping a 146 and my experience in advertising would account for something...Also I am 30, so I am older (relatively speaking) and I hoped they would take that into account too...
