Does anyone know specifically how students are chosen for law review at UMich? The website is kinda vague: "Members of the first-year class will be invited to join the review on the basis of first-year grades and performance in a writing competition. MLR also has a diversity plan designed to bring a range of perspectives and experiences to its membership."
I'm visiting UVA this coming weekend and will sit in on a class next Monday, since I couldn't make either of the admit weekends. Is there any protocol for the class visits, ie should I alert the prof to my presence, sit in the back, sit in the front, etc? I'm pretty sure it's a big 1L class. I emailed the school and they just told me to show up- not too informative...
Would it be advantageous or just annoying to send in an app update to a school already accepting and rejecting people, but that hasn't taken any action regarding my app? I've already sent updated transcripts to all my schools, but would a letter with updates about new campus involvement/extracurriculars and awards, and one reaffirming my strong desire to attend be a good idea? I'm thinking of Stanford here.
Got this an hour and a half ago:
We write to acknowledge receipt of your application to Stanford Law School. We are upgrading our system, and it has caused an unexpected delay in processing applications. As a result, it may take us a little longer to request your LSDAS report and process your application fee. We will contact you again if we are missing any materials and/or to notify you when your file becomes complete. We appreciate your patience while we process your application materials.

I don't want to visit schools I don't get into, and because I'm right at the averages for most of my targets, I can't tell where I'm most likely to get in. Question is, do the admitted students days come early enough before you have to commit to schools for you to be able to get a feel for the places?
Some schools specifically say what they want in terms of indentifying info on the PS and resume, but what about schools that don't say anything? Should I put my name and ssn to be safe or do they for some reason want that stuff excluded?
