I haven't had that specific experience but if you're looking at law schools cynically trying to lower their acceptance rates, I'd consider GMU. That's a school looking to do anything to boost its ranking. I know they extended their application deadline in March (when they most likely didn't have any more spots available anyway), and they spend some time bragging about their low acceptance rate on their web site. I have nothing against GMU but what they're up to seems pretty transparent.

I'll second GMU.  They sent me a fee waiver and then dinged me last year. ::)

I'm going to agree with vickymas.  The area you describe is about halfway between Case and downtown, so is convenient in that sense.  It is, however, a very depressed area of town, with few amenities to make up for the danger.  Cleveland's a strange place.  There has been a great deal of urban renewal in the downtown area, and many of the suburbs are beautiful, but there is this "doughnut" (for lack of a better word) around the downtown that hasn't been improved upon in years.  It's not like it's poor in the sense that it's an industial part of the city where only the poor would want to live either, there's just nothing.  It's like a ghost town, in parts... eerie, and very dangerous.

I live in the Triangle, a complex only a couple of blocks away from the law building.  Don't worry too much about loud undergrads at local apartments... Case is almost 2/3rds grad students.  Most of the popular apartments tend to be very young, but also very quiet and serious.  The party places seem to be houses close to Coventry.

I'm going to go against the other posters here and say that you really NEED a cas at Case.  I went without my first year, and really wish that I hadn't.  Case, despite being in a "major" city, is inexplicably cut off from resources needed for everyday life, particularly, places to buy groceries.  There isn't even a decent convenient store within reasonable walking distance of the school, meaning that if you live nearby, it's either pizza, chinese, and Quizno's every night (actually, nix pizza and chinese, since the closest places for each are low end quality) or begging your friends for rides.  So a car at Case is only a necessity in the way that eating is a necessity, since there is a direct corellation between driving and eating.
