Yeah, I wouldn't say that because coming from a mixed Californian/Southern family I can say that many southerners look down at people from California (mostly SoCal).

Are they snobs or do they think Southern Californians are flakes? Because it's true. Northern Californians think LA is a joke, and it is.

Yeah, I think Nashville would be a pretty interesting city because it's progressive in a sea of red and because of the music industry. I also like the fact that there are a lot of parks and the weather seems pleasant. And the cost of living would be a big relief coming from LA and San Francisco.

Are there bohemians and artists in Nashville?

It sucks that there's no baseball or basketball team but you can't have everything.

USF is T3. You are not attending USF! What do you think about the school?

No, it moved up to T2. I think the school's great. Are you going to attend in the fall?

I know a thing or two about USF. PM me if you want.

EDIT: You all saw the new rankings, right?  ;D

For what it's worth, Rutgers Newark isn't generally regarded as the best school in NJ.  Come to South Jersey and ask them what they think.

Princeton is much more prestigious.

LiLShady, thanks, excellent points and post.

I left my heart in San Francisco, it's the city I love the most...pretty upset I didn't get into Boalt.

I would be wary of choosing where I'll be for the next 3 years without at least visiting.  Why can't you visit?

No time before April 15th. Maybe I should catch a red eye and head out there for a weekend...

EDIT: Maybe I'll just put money down on Vandy and hold a spot. USC doesn't require a cash deposit until May.

My beloved Dons and the University of San Francisco are on the rise!

Hey, right now, I'm trying to pick between USC and Vandy. If Vandy matches the money USC offered me, I'd be very tempted to accept at Vandy because it has a better reputation and the degree is more national than USC's. Plus the atmosphere is supposed to be laid back, the campus is progressive and I m not looking forward to spending another three years in LA. I'm looking for a pretty campus and a collegiate feel. Vandy is supposed to be beautiful with lots of trees with a mild climate that I think I'd like.

Anyway, I doubt I'll be able to visit Vandy before the deposit is due. Would it be crazy of me to accept sight unseen? I've never been to Nashville but I don't see how it could be worse than LA.
