« on: February 02, 2006, 02:30:04 PM »
What an emotional rollercoaster. Waitlisted at Northwestern and then dinged at George Washington. C'est la vie! (sp may be a bit off)

Choosing the Right Law School / Why Boston?? Why??
« on: January 19, 2006, 03:55:56 PM »
I went to my mailbox today and noticed a big package from Boston College. I got excited because I thought it was my first acceptance letter (I went complete in late November) . However, it was just more information on the school. I was freaking out and even shaking. Now, I feel like a girlfriend that has been used as a tool. Why does Boston College have to play with my emotions? Why???

Choosing the Right Law School / For people requesting admissions advice
« on: December 23, 2005, 04:41:07 PM »
I figured it would be nice to get some sort of system going for people asking for admissions advice. It would be helpful for you and everyone else if you posted the following:
2) GPA (Major)
3) URM or Non-URM
4) State of Residency
5) Work Experience (yrs) or No Work Experience
6) Any special EC's and not the usual of volunteering at the YMCA for 3 years. It was a great service but a substantial amount of people have done this before.
7) your list of schools/region/area of law that you are interested in.

Law School Admissions / University of Texas Regular Decision Application
« on: December 14, 2005, 01:53:54 PM »
I submitted my application in late November to the Univ. of Texas but they have not requested my LSAC report. Is this normal? How long did it take for anyone else?

General Off-Topic Board / NBA Basketball Thread
« on: November 17, 2005, 04:23:41 PM »
I figured that it is time that we have an NBA thread.

Tonight on TNT:

Washington Wizards (5-2) vs. Minnesota Timber wolves (3-4)

Houston Rockets (3-4) vs. San Antonio Spurs (6-2)

Probably on their local television network:

Atlanta Hawks (0-7) vs. Dallas Mavericks (5-2)

I really think that this year will be an exciting year because the conferences are a bit more balanced than previously.

on the West you have:
San Antonio Spurs
Dare we say, Los Angeles Clippers (6-2)
Golden State (5-4) the JR and Baron combo, I love it!
Phoenix (3-4) They need freaking Amare.

On the East:
Detroit Pistons (7-0) very impressive.
Philly (6-3) Finally the answer has evolved and Chris Webber stopped his bitching
Miami (5-3) You can not ignore a fantasy basketball players dream team.
Washington (5-2) Gilbert Arenas, my boy from the streets of L.A. and Wildcat alumni.
Boston (3-5) I put them here because they are my team along with the Clips in the West. Also, they have Paul Pierce, my boy from Inglewood High.

Ike Diogu, dude, I hope your left hand heals. I have $5 dollars riding on this guy that he is the next Charles Barkley.

Black Law Students / Which concert would you attend?

I just got the Common CD and I think it is really good. So, I decided to make a poll.

Black Law Students / The Whitest Law Schools in the US
« on: October 23, 2005, 04:37:36 PM »
Here is a link to The Whitest Law Schools:

It is an interesting read because it discusses the struggles an African-American female had to endure during her law school experience in the 1980's. I am Mexican-American and I really found this to be very interesting. It also gives you a list of the Top Ten least diverse law schools. I accidentally found this web page while attempting to find some info in order to compare and contrast South Africa’s Bill of Rights and the U.S. Bill of Rights.

Choosing the Right Law School / What position would you rather be in??
« on: October 04, 2005, 04:05:18 PM »
I did a new poll because the other poll did not provide a good amount of choices. I think everyone and their mom was selecting Boston College.

Just wondering what the Law School Discussion Community would say.
