Transferring / transfer "down" to Columbia

I'm seriously thinking about transferring to Columbia from a higher ranked school. I was admitted there last year and I think I might have chosen the wrong school...it’s just not a great fit with my personality, interests and attitude. Anyhow, I'm wondering if anyone here has transferred to CLS after earning mediocre 1L grades at a nominally “better” school (Stanford, Harvard, or Yale). Any comments on prospects and/or process will be most welcome.

I was all set to go to Columbia and then Stanford called me this morning offering a seat (I got waitlisted back in April). This afternoon, the finance folks emailed an offer of roughly 5k per-year more than Columbia. Here's the catch: I want to do international arbitration with a good deal of human rights pro-bono or perhaps work in the public sector (NGOs or UN) and Columbia is legendary in both int'l and human rights law. That said, Stanford is more prestigious (and at this point, cheaper). Your thoughts, please.

is anyone else planning on attending the Admitted Student Program at Columbia this week? If so, is there any word on suggested attire for the Wednesday reception?

I'm pretty happy about CLS but NYU and Stanford (an outside chance) are still out there. Any comments on whether I should just go to CLS and get in on the ground floor with good housing and peace-of-mind or wait it out with NYU (which will just create one hell of a dilemma if I get in)...great appreciation to any responders.
