I will be moving to SF in early August, and looking for places in late July.  Hopefully finding a place in 3 weeks is not completely unrealistic.  If it works out with my schedule I would love to be included as I don't know the area at all.

I did not work too hard in undergrad b/c I could cram and make good grades.  I am an auditory learner so if I went to class I have a auditory version of a photographic mind.  I remembered verbatim almost eveyrthing I heard in lecture.  That won't get me far in law school b/c of the socratic method so I know I need to change my studying style.  I am a typical Type A as most of us are here so I assume that will keep me going, and know I will be waorking 10 times harder than I did in undergrad.

I went on a few and just wore nice jeans, heels, and a nice sweater.  Conservative, but not over the top.  Once you are in I guess it doesn't really matter, although you do want to make a good impression.  I was driving to work today wondering what I should wear on the first day of class.  I will prob. opt out of heels for that one.

There were some ppl. at my admitted students day in suits and briefcases, and they looked ridiculous.

Can't wait to see you guys this fall.  I am moving to S.F. from Huntington Beach, Ca in early August.  Any living area suggestions would be extremely helpful.  Ambs has already provided some good advice.

What type of other goodies?  I am going with a T43 and looking into what else I want with it.

Which store carries IBMs? I'd really like to try them out before I buy but wasn't able to find them in any of the stores near where I live.

This has been mentioned a few times already, and I had the same problem.  Retailers do not carry them anymore.  Some schools do in their computer shops.  Other than that you are flying blind with a 30 day return policy.  I have tried to hunt down a friend with a Thinkpad, but no luck.  The website does have a cool 3D interactive display.

I am buying my T43 today.  I got a 10% educational discount, and a free extra battery.  I am also buying a dock and a 19 inch monitor that is on sale so I can convert it to a desktop at home.  I decided on the 14 inch.

Go to Northwestern

Ambs, I have been silently rooting for you for awile.  I am so excited you got into Hastings, and think you should definately go there.  From Southern Cal I had never even heard of USF and my dad and all his friends are attys.  Everyone knows Hastings.  Not to say USF is bad, but I think Hastings is much more widely known as others have stated.

I know ppl at Hastings who love it.  The one problem I have heard about is faculty accessiblity.  When I went to the admitted students day at Hastings I heard some great things to outweigh that.  If you have any specific questions please e-mail me and maybe you can help me with Bay Area advise.

It seems like Fordham doesn't really care about people's interest in the school.  They seem to be pulling people off the waitlist based on the numbers they want.

USC is doing the same thing.  I don't know if additional materials really help or not.
