you'd think that the ones that are nationally accredited by DETC which is reconised by the US dept of education would have to meet some standards.

I know that some states allow "reading for the law" to take bar exam without schooling, but is there any state or territory that lets you take it without either? I heard it once, but I doubt it's true. If anyone knows anything on it let me know. I am curious.

you can represent yourself in any state. Not legal advice, just an overt fact open to all who can read books or log onto the internet legal sites.

You can legally represent yourself. I did in my divorse. Just know that you will have to do all the leg work yourself too. A judge can deny your right to self defense in criminal matters, but many people in divorce and small claims do it themselves. Like I said I did.

well, cooley has a fail curve and there are rumors that the stack their sections (one section having mostly scholarship kids so inevitably some are at the bottom of the class despite performing well). so, its highly likely that if you get an merit based aid it will be gone after the first year. This is just something to consider if you are pursuing cooley over another option solely because of a perceived advantage in cost. Not saying that you will lose the money or that its definite that they have that practice, but its certainly something to keep in mind. [/quote] 9
