General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: Start dates for law school

Temple's orientation is the 22nd and writing classes start the 23rd. Talk about no notice!

Dilly Hilltop.

I like the Middle name-street name version better, because Ann Hilltop is way more feminine.

Congratulation!!!
I must state that you're married with smart guy, because he chooses one of the best MBA program.  By the way, does he think that about going to law school also? perhaps, you should talk to him about it. lol

Thanks! Well it was kind of a no brainer for him since we both attended NJIT's undergrad. :) I've talked to him about law school but it's just not his thing, though he'd rock the logic games on the LSAT. He's strictly a tech guy, that's the other reason he wanted to go to NJIT, since they have a great Technology Management program.

Married as of next sunday. :P We already feel married anyway. He's doing his MBA at NJIT while I'm at temple, living right smack in the middle of the two. I'm just glad everything worked out for us to be able to spend this time together!

The law building is GREAT. I just finished four years at NJIT across the street and spent a good amount of time in the law school. The library is really well set up and very welcoming. Yes, Newark is hairy sometimes, and the Springs have been getting progressively more dangerous over the last few years. But they have really good security on the law building and the Rutgers campus in general always has cops cruising around. The campus outside of the law building isn't nearly as nice, however. Their undergrad classrooms stink.

I actually already moved. This is mostly because I didn't have a lot of choices since my SO is going in one direction for work and I'm going for law school in the other. We found a complex we liked and they had an opening in May so here I am. Also, I wanted to be fully settled in by the time I started school. The last thing I need is to be living out of boxes *and* trying to adjust to law school!

Yeah,  but what about giving out your number while at LS, you'd have to give the area code every time.  Might cause some confusion...
I'm not sure about where you are, but here in New Jersey you have to do that no matter what. Cell phones are bordering on randomly assigned area codes since they almost entirely used up the ones they had in place. But then again, my Verizon plan has no roaming in the continental US so I guess it's no biggie.

Acceptances / Re: Seton Hall - You love me, You really love me.

Her ;)
Yeah, I went to NJIT, only about 5 blocks up (and through Rutgers Newark) to SH Law. Honestly, University Heights isn't too bad, just a bit... well, boring! The heights are always heavily policed so it cuts down on a lot... the only real issue that comes up at any of the schools in Newark is parking. It isn't quite the lively city life like NY or Philly provides. But the law school is really nice, great building. Also, Tops diner, across the bridge in Kearney, can't be beat!  ;D

Edited to add: Both the schools have a really comfortable atmosphere, though I personally preferred Rutgers' library.. I spent hours in there for my undergrad legal studies work and felt so totally at home... if they did more work with business law I would have been hard-put to not go there.

Congrats on mastering Newark. :P Though I will say if Temple offers you should come over to the dark side with us  ;D But then again, I just spent four years in Newark, I'm jaded and want out!

I love Cold Stone. The red pan flavors of the month are always awesome (red licorice? amazing, and suprisingly good with bananas in it)
