Hey LakerLover;

I'm Rob; I'm from Pennsylvania.  Just wanted to welcome you to the group!  I, like you, know no one in Texas aside from the people I've met on here.  As is likely the case with a large group from the new class.

Hope you like football so you join our tailgating team!

My best friend up here came to school here from LA; He's from El Camino Village, so I know where you live man.'re not that alone.  lol

For the record, I also want to say: I HATE THE SPURS!

A complex that I checked out and haven't seen mentioned very often is Canyon Crossing.  It's sort of in a weird location: not super close to the business district, or Tech, but it's probably the best value out there.  It has every single amenity imaginable, and the price is competitive with complexes like fountains, hunter's way, sagewood, willow hill.  If the gates wouldn't have sold The Fountains to my girlfriend and I, particularly her overprotective father, we'd likely be living there.

check it out.

Had a disheartening conversation today with the Texas Tech finanical aid office/law school that I figured the majority of you would wish to know about.  They informed me that our award letters, which enumerate our loan and scholarship information provided by the university will not be ready until JULY!

They gave me some bull about the financial aid office not going out of its way to award the 1L's seperately from the rest of the student body.  They award those students in July, and apparently us as well.

Just filling everyone in considering many have had questions about that.

I believe I'm living in the Fountains as long as my gf can find a job relatively soon.  I saw on here somewhere that someone wrote about summer reading, and they talked to Donna Williams about it.

What, perhaps, would be good to read over the summer?  Does anyone have an answer? Or should we just do nothing, so we're "fully charged," so to speak?

No, I didn't attend the student day in April.  I did, however, go down to visit in January.  Even in Janurary one day it was 70 degrees. ;D I have to say I agree with everything everyone has said thus far about Lubbock.  If anyone has AIM, let me know, it's much easier to communicate with you guys that way.  But anyway, I too am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you, and certainly the football and basketball games!

Go Raiders!

I'm from Pittsburgh.  Yeah, it sucks--but the Steelers rock!  I am graduating from this school here you've probably never heard of, Slippery Rock University.  It's a cheap, state school.  Glad to meet all you guys!
