General Off-Topic Board / Re: Why do people regret?
« on: January 30, 2006, 11:35:41 PM »
I do believe in learning from my mistakes, but I don't need to feel regret in order to get that done so...

agreed...if you did something in the past that made u a better person, then its happening made you a better person...but if you regret that happening, then that means you regret the event but at the same time that also means that you regret the event that made u a better person, thus leaving you the same shady (ok, a little harsh, but u kno wat i mean  :)) person you were prior to the event in question

I disagree.  Things that I have done in the past that resulted in undesirable situations are things that I regret doing, especially if it put others in situations they should not have been in.  These acts do not make me a better person.  The regret I feel for things like these pursuade me not to do it again.  That is what makes me a better person.

I think learning from your mistakes is one thing, not making them again is another.

I don't see regret as a negative like most others...it doesnt make me feel in the negative.  Rather, its just a subtle reminder of what not to do when temptation is knocking on the door.  And for me, temptation is always knocking...

Anyone have any thoughts on Mark Warner for President, 2008?

I have heard him speak several times (on TV).  Very intelligent, very articulate, and has his finger on the pulse of the real issues surrounding our country today and in the future.

I have a feeling he will be the nominee in 2008, which is
bad news for the rebublicans.

Well, I regret.  And I'm glad I regret.  I think it makes me a better person, and helps me steer clear of making the same mistakes twice.

lets see, top 6 albums would have to be:

6. Tori Amos - Under The Pink
5. Radiohead - The Bends
4. Ziggy Stardust - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust
3. Alice n Chains - Jar Of Flies
2. Portishead - Dummy
1. Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes

("top 5 albums" is so cliche  ;))

26
Angelina Jolie would be enough.  ;)

Litigation for the ACLU.  Even moreso now since every right wing wacko out there claims the ACLU is the most dangerous organization in the world.

Most likely will end up working for the Attorny Generals office first since ACLU positions are so difficult to land.

I would off myself before going corporate.

Let's just agree to disagree, I find it hard to argue with someone with an avatar like that.  Either way, Seattle-ites deserve the win, maybe it'll make them less depressed for at least like 4 months out of this year.

It's not as fun to agree to disagree though.  >:(

Alright then.
