Law School Discussion

Quick question for the board.

Do law schools usually give out scholarships after the first academic year to those who did not receive any as an entering 1L?  You know, kind of like someone who makes a football team as a walk-on only to then later earn an athletic scholarship after proving their ability.

Of course, this is predicated on finishing your first year with high class standing. 

This is my first post and I am in search of some advice from you all.  I have been preparing to start law school this fall at Gonzaga (WA) with interest  to study International Human Rights Law.  I'd like to eventually end up in San Francisco.   Do you think it is better to earn my JD at Gonzaga and then try to find work in SF/Bay Area, or attend Golden Gate with the intention of trying to transfer into a school such as USF or Santa Clara?  I have read some pretty discouraging things about GGU Law, and wonder if prospective GGU transfer students are even looked favorably upon by other law schools in the Bay Area, even if you have good marks and top standing?

Any insight would be most appreciated.
