I also turned down Oregon to attend McGeorge. I am tired of the horrible job market in Oregon and the sad state of the schools.

I will be attending McGeorge and I was just down from Portland looking at housing. I settled on a house in Davis. I figure it takes as long to get from there as it does many of the suburbs and my in-laws are there. They will do some day care for us and my wife will hopefully work in Davis. I saw a lot of crap in Sacramento but what really drove me nuts was the street layout. It is so flat yet the grid is so screwed up. lucky for me I get to be on I-80 for my commute.
Too bad the school isn't a better help for finding housing. Yes they have the bulletin boards but other schools maintain great websites for helping with housing. Lots of postings and searchable by housing type, size, cost and distance from school.
It was also a bummer that they do not have a deal with a laptop company for discounts and they have a very limited wireless network.

My orientation starts August 10. I am going down to find a house next week and planning to move July 1. I just want time to settle in, take care of business, and take a few hikes.

Incoming 1Ls / Laptop Service Plans
« on: May 24, 2005, 06:08:07 PM »
I know Dell has a great service plan. I was wondering how the other companies compare in their plans. I saw where Sony has an onsite service with accidental damage protection. Does anyone know if this is close to the Dell plan?

I did not receive this email either. I am also on hold at Wiconsin. I have pretty much decided to go elsewhere though.

My wife has a student named Aquanetta (I guess she is named after the hair spray)

I think Iowa may have a summer start. Then again, it might not.

I never thought I would consider going to McGeorge (or living in Sacramento) but that has changed. I did not even apply there until April. I assumed I would attend U of Oregon.
