I was warming up to the idea of UoP initially, but I think this thread and everything else I've heard about the school recently has really put me over the top. I just hope I get in now! I met their Director of Admissions (Adam Barrett) at a Graduate School Fair here on the UCSB campus a few months ago. I was really impressed with what he had to say, the awesome guide-book-catalog thing he gave me (which was the best one I've seen), the general presentation of the campus/university and the "upward trend" feel that McGeorge has. I'm definitely going to make a drive up to the campus over Spring Break now.

Imagine if Loyola was on the main LMU campus...

The LMU girls, the view of the WHOLE westside panorama, easy access to Hermosa bars, a block from the only Home Depot in the area, the best college gym west of the Mississippi, LMU girls...drool

on a clear day you could almost see the ucla law school...drool :o

seriously though, where better to go to school than playa del rey. oh my god. downtown is poo. good thing my apartment is in west la

oh! which reminds me- if i decide to go to loyola, or get into usc/ucla i have an AWESOME 2 bedroom house w/ lawn (huge bathroom and kitchen) that is only $1025 a month TOTAL! i will need a roommate!

Thats an awesome deal! I pay $675 a month for my own room in an Apartment here in Santa Barbara. If I get into Loyola or Southwestern, I might take you up on the offer too!

So basically if I want to get into sports law- I will have to start my own business after law school My dream job is to work for a pro hockey team. I am looking at getting a dual MBA/JD in sports law from Marquette or Tulane-- What does anyone think?

I just emailed you regarding this. Please give me your AOL IM so we can talk.

futurejd20: I'm extremely interested as to what you have to say about this as well, since I am in the exact same boat. (I'd like to work for a Pro Baseball team though). Whats your take on the MBA/JD combo? Also, any ideas as to how to break into the field, etc?

I know its really nothing to toot my horn about, but its my first acceptance so I'm happy that I know I'll be going to law school somewhere at least next year.

Letter came in thin-white envelope I was almost certain was a rejection letter.

Law School Admissions / Re: What GPA is looked at?

I transferred to UCSB and therefore I have a UC GPA and my jc GPA. How will those two work together to form a total UG GPA? I asked my advisor..but I don't think he understood my question and he didn't have time for me to explain it. Any ideas? BTW, UCSB is quarter and my jc was semester.

High Five for my UCSB buddy.
