Well I wasnt home to get the letter, but my roomate informs me that I got waitlisted at UoP. I visited the campus over break and the admissions staff and everyone I encountered were incredibly friendly and helpful. (This was prior to my notification of WL).

Law School Admissions / Re: Greek system leadership EC's

I was the President and a Founding Father of the Kappa Sigma Chapter on our campus, and I left everything out except for one line on my resume. I just didnt see how it really made me appear to be any better of a potential lawyer to AdComms than before. (Aside from all the leadership aspects involved with being the president of any organization.)

Visits, Admit Days, and Open Houses / Re: Loyola - Los Angeles
« on: March 13, 2005, 10:22:19 PM »
I actually drove down to LA today and dropped by Loyola just to have a second look around.  I have to admit the campus was a lot nicer than I had remember and there were a lot of nice places to hang out and study.  However I also drove around the neighborhood and it is pretty bad.  Not you're going to be gun down bad, but just unpleasant and I sure as hell wouldn't go walking around there at night or park my car outside.  As far as I could tell there really wasn't anything like a nice coffeeshop or even a mcdonald's within walking distance (I could be wrong though) which is a real downside.  What I'm sort of worried about with Loyola is that between commuting (either driving or metro both have major downsides), the safety issues (especially if you needed to stay late) and just the lack of convience it could all get pretty stressful and law school is already stressful enough.  There's still a pretty good chance I'll go there, but just a lot to consider.

Dont worry about it. Just start packing heat and doing coke yourself. You'll be fine!

Yeah I heard that coke is great for when you've been up for two days straight studying, really takes the edge off and great for losing weight too.

I think you've got it backwards. Its the coke that allows people to stay up for two days straight studying. But I've heard it is great for losing weight too though.
