Acceptances / Northwestern Two-Year J.D. Program
« on: May 11, 2005, 06:04:33 PM »
Are there any LSDers that are waitlisted for the two-year J.D. program for law graduates from foreign countries at Northwestern?

Are there any LSDers that have been accepted to the same?

I'm trying to gauge what is going on with respect to admissions to this program.

Where should I go next fall? / Rutgers-Newark Evening Section
« on: May 10, 2005, 01:51:21 PM »
Does anyone know what the evening section is like at Rutgers-Newark?  Is the faculty that teaches in the evening drawn mainly from the ranks of the practicing bar?  What about the variety of courses taught at night (presuming that I cannot transfer to the day section after 1L)?

I am curious only because I have found that it is far better to learn from practitioners than it is from "ivory tower" academics.

SN?  That's not an abbreviation with which I am familiar.

If you are referring to my pseudonym, "Maclock" is it, my friend.  Nothing unusual about that.  I have the same freedom to reply aggressively to your b.s. as you do to post it in the first place.  It just puzzles me why someone like you feels qualfied to speak out about the Canadian seal hunt.

Are you a Canadian Inuit trying to defend his native customs? What makes you qualified? I do not attempt to advertise myself as being specifically "qualified", as I'm neither an environmentalist nor a biologist studying the seal population or its long-term viability in the face of the hunt. I'm simply a layman who has done a fair amount of research about the subject, and I find it to be a particularly barbaric method of killing an animal that is basically a puppy that flops around on the ice.

Urmm...no, I am not an Inuit (not that it matters).  Lots of micks, scots and wasps happily prosecute a population about which you know nothing, 'tard.

Carry on with some anti-globalization stuff, why don't you?

YOU DON'T KNOW STUFF ABOUT THE SEAL HARVEST, MI HERMANO; IF YOU HAD EVER DONE A REAL DAY OF WORK IN YOUR LIFE, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT WHAT GOES ON IN NEWFOUNDLAND IS NO DIFFERENT TO THE OTHER THINGS THAT WE MASTER AS TOP-ORDER CONSUMERS.   There is NO WAY that you can purport to be sensible and not understand this...what next -- a sense of righteous indignation at calling you on your nonsense?  Tell your friends about how all 5,000,000+ seals are endangered.  Then, march against globalization.  Idiot.
Get stuffed.  Go to some pinko-commie law school; you'll feel right at home.

LOL! I'm the last person from being a "pink-commie"...that much I can guarantee you:

http://www.lawschooldiscussion.org/prelaw/index.php/topic,30201.0.html

As I mention in the thread above quite clearly, I'm bashing Canada b/c it touts some perceived sense of moral superiority in its "progressiveness"/"compassionate" opposition to US "fascism", and its gleaming pride in its own socialist economy and "green" enviro. policies--all this despite still actively supporting the barbaric seal hunt. Thus my problem with Canada is precisely what you've misattributed to me--it's "pinko-Commiism", which I find to be hypocritical in light of the annual display of skull-clubbing, bash-as-many-as-you-can-and-skin-them-alive savagery.

Agree with you on the Canadian inferiority crap.  Countries have fictions to which they appeal.  Those of Canada (and in no particular order) are as follow:

1. Hospitals (universal health -- not as good as it sounds)
2. Hockey
3 The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (i.e., the RCMP, also known as the "Mounties")
4. An irrational hatred of the States.

I like the States; my brain-washed countrymen are another story.  I want to go to the States.  Honest.
Oh, and if you take offense to someone from a place with a proud tradition of sealing telling you to "get stuffed", try to imagine how you're going to feel when someone calls you "idiot" in a courtroom, because for someone like you, it is a certainty that this will happen.

Does anyone else love all the wannabe lawyers telling people with whom they disagree on LSD that their arguments "would be thrown out by a judge", "laughed at by a jury", or in this case, "called an idiot in the courtroom". FYI, you're on an INTERNET DISCUSSION BOARD. No reason to start trying to prove how skilled of an attorney you are here. Is the legal market so competitive that people who have not yet attended law school are already trying to out-lawyer one another?

Anyway, your "proud tradition of sealing" makes we wonder whether my Inuit joke above was truer than I thought. By the way, natives have been hunting seals for thousands of years, but the scale of their operations were not nearly the size of commercial fisheries, who carry it out today for a meager supplement to their income, which has diminished due to their own overfishing. Also, there is something to be said for subsistence hunting, unlike trying to skin as many as you can in a given amount of time in order to gain a 2% increase in pay from pelt sales to Norway and China. Seriously, instead of trying to call someone you don't know names, why don't you actually generate an intelligent argument supporting the seal hunt? Before you do, please refer to the thread I posted above, as I've already explained myself there. Thanks!

Actually, man, AGAIN, I'm no Inuit.  And, by the way, I am a qualified lawyer with a Canadian law degree....  I just want to go south in search of better opportunity. And my people harvest seals...and they do so without your b.s.  (I am surprised that there isn't some kind of "black face" crap as your avitar.)

George Mason or William & Mary?

I realize W & M is ranked higher, but it's further away. Basically, I am wondering if GMU's proximity makes up for its lower ranking position.

Seal Clubbing U.  Oh, and by the way, stuff your ignorance about the seal hunt up your ar$e.   >:(

I promise to...once you sign in with your real SN.
